Cindy Crawford Biography
Cynthia Ann Crawford born February 20, 1966 was one of four children born to John and Jennifer Crawford in DeKalb, Illinois. She was discovered by chance by a newspaper photographer, who noticed then-16-year-old Cindy at work during her summer job of pollinating corn and took a picture of her. The photo and the positive feedback surrounding Cindy's photogenic talents were enough to convince her to quit her summer job and take up modeling. Crawford donates both her time and energy to breast and ovarian cancer research and the Leukemia Society of American in memory of her brother. Half of the money from her calendar sales goes to organizations for leukemia research. In 1988, Crawford made more history as the first modern supermodel to appear in Playboy. The impressive pictorial led to her six-year stint as host for MTV’s “House of Style” a show which was cashing in on the new supermodel as personality craze. Considered one of the world's most beautiful women, supermodel Cindy Crawford has appeared just about everywhere advertisements are allowed. Over her career, she has hawked everything from perfume and haute couture to dairy products and soda pop, and has made a fortune with her swimsuit calendars and beauty and fitness videos.
