Dido Armstrong was born in London (England) on Dec 25, 1971. Dido lived with her poet mother and publisher father in London. She entered London's Guildhall School of Music at age 6, and by the time she reached her teens had already mastered violin, piano, and recorder. After touring with a British classical ensemble, she accepted a publishing job, in the meanwhile singing in a series of local groups before joining the trip-hop outfit Faithless. Dido really shot to fame when Eminem incorporated 'Thank You' into the massive number 1 hit 'Stan'. For the 'Stan' video Dido agreed to wear a padded pregnancy suit and lie in the boot of a car before being dumped in a river.
